iRecover Digital Image Recovery

DIY DataRecovery iRecover offers a free digital image recovery mode for salvaging lost or deleted photos from digital cameras and memory cards. This means that this feature is fully functional in the un-registered trial version!

Formats supported

  • GIF
  • JPEG
  • TIFF
  • CRW - Canon RAW data
  • MOV - QuickTime movie
  • WAV - Waveform audio
  • CR2 - Canon CR2 RAW format (see notes below).
  • Note: iRecover recovers Canon .CR2 files as TIFF!

    recovery procedure

  • Download, install, then run iRecover
  • Attach the camera or insert the memory card into the reader device.
  • On the first screen, no adjustment is required, just hit "Proceed".
  • Program will then prompt you for an operation mode. Select "Recover images from camera memory card", then hit "Proceed".
  • The rest is mostly automatic. When the analysis is done, select files to recover, specify the directory to copy recovered files to, hit "Start copying" and you're done.
  •

    Known camera compatibility list

You can run iRecover on nearly any system you can attach your digital camera to:

  • Windows 2000, XP, or 2003.
  • Appropriate digital camera/card reader drivers installed (if applicable).
  • Following is the known camera compatibility list. If you experience problems with a listed camera or have successfully recovered your images from a camera not listed yet, please email your camera model to support@diydatarecovery.nl, so we can update  this list.

Note: "Card reader required" indicates you need a separate flashcard reader to recover lost files (the camera itself does not provide direct access to the memory card).
